I get my information from varies resources such as Facebook, Google, News, etc. If I want to know about something that is going on in the Middle East I just simply look it up and I feel that the article is biased I look for more articles. Do I feel that I am being fed all the information? No not really because the internet filters out a vast majority of things it thinks it wants you to see instead of giving all the information. Its like giving you just enough information to get wet your appetite instead giving you a vast ocean of knowledge. But even though it filters out everything I still feel that I know more on current events than some people do because I pay attention to the world around me. Some people do not even pay attention to things that are happening in the outside world unless the information is fed directly to them.
Every so fateful day that falls during the second month of each year. Where couples get promiscuous and googly eyed. And the single people could care less and spend the night alone with Netflix and their pet. A day full of chocolate, wine, eating out, or someone may have been waiting up till this day. The day full of arrows flying in each direction shot by a little fat babies with wings filling people with passion and emotion. The day full of cards with meaningful messages given to people left and right in different assorted boxes with different colors and writing on them. The day for which different plants are exchanged for gifts to make a significant other happy or sad due to you giving them a plant they are allergic to and are now sneezing their face off. The day every person in social media dreads due to the impending pictures of every picture in the world of every couple posting up and they are just sitting alone watching stuff on Netflix. The holiday where no one really knows the truth behind why it is a holiday and celebrate it not knowing that really it was about a Christian martyr. The ever so annoying day.
Well before I took cultural anthropology, I never really wasn't aware of things going on in the outside world. I would research things on a daily basis reading about things that. going in Europe, Middle East, Asia, or Mexico. I didn't just keep an American perspective of different places. When I took cultural anthropology it blew my mind on things that I didn't know. Things such as keep an open mind on things such as culture because every culture is not secular, they are not one in the same. Treating every culture the same is not how world should be because we are not all the same. But instead when someone doesn't understand a culture they ridicule it or chose to not understand it. Cultural Anthropology also taught me that race is just a construct that really is hard to define much like culture. Anthropology as a whole has changed how I ultimately view the world and so far was my favorite class to take because of the topics it explored and how it addressed that we as human beings ignore the unknown instead of trying to understand it regardless of our background. In my cultural anthropology class, we read an ethnography which is a study of an account of a different culture conducted by anthropologist who lives in that town, city, or village for a time to study that culture. The ethnography was on the village of Yaxbe, which is located in the Yucatan Peninsula, how the Yaxbenos flourished and fallen after a major cash crop called henequen beginning to die out and also how the culture was shifting from Mayan way of living to more modern day of living. The ethnography gave me a glimpse into a culture that I would not have been aware of if I did not take this class.
Coffee
Sleeping Reading Traveling Watching movies/TV shows Playing video games Swimming I love to drink coffee so much. I like to drink it black, cold, hot, etc. Coffee is my jet fuel in the morning and without it I feel like a zombie. Some people prefer not to drink coffee because they find it nasty but it taste like pure gold bliss. Drinking coffee is actually good for you with two cups a day for the mind and heart.
